Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak has accepted RM13.7 million in business zakat contributions from ten corporate companies.
The handover ceremony organized by the Perak Council of Islamic Religion and Malay Customs (MAIPk) took place at Istana Perak, Kuala Lumpur.
Several leading companies participated in this charity event.
Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, represented by Azizan Abd Aziz, contributed RM416,000.
Similarly, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad submitted RM580,310, while Bank Rakyat contributed RM1.02 million.
Other contributors include Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (RM479,802) and Etiqa Takaful company, donating a combined RM1.4 million.
Maybank Islamic Berhad, represented by Datuk Muzaffar Hisham, contributed RM857,129.
Plus Malaysia Berhad also gave a large donation of RM2 million.
Meanwhile, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad and Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Am Berhad contributed RM500,000 while Takaful Ikhlas contributed RM122,985.
The highest contributor, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) represented by Datuk Muhamad Nazri Pazil gave RM6.3 million.
The companies' contribution highlights their dedication to supporting the community through zakat.
